Belgium is internationally in the leading group when it comes to cybersecurity policy and structures, with an early and coherent implementation of NIS2 as an example that other member states are now using as a reference. And we have an ecosystem that operates at the very top level worldwide. That’s not a footnote. It’s an economic lever. If we deliberately leverage that advantage, we can position Belgium much more strongly as a cyber-trusted region: a place where “demonstrable cybersecurity” becomes a mark of quality — and therefore a differentiator in international markets. Trust then becomes an export product.
